Each person seeks counseling for their own unique reasons. Some find heightened levels of stress when transitioning jobs, relationships, or other life issues. They recognize that additional support during these times can help reduce and/or alleviate feelings of stress, overwhelm, depression or anxiety.

There are those who desire to connect authentically and fully to another but recognize patterns in their relationships with others that are getting in the way of their ability to have healthy connections. These may be related to things that occurred during childhood, challenges related to family members, or difficulties communicating or navigating conflict. Some people simply need assistance learning tools and skills to help them during times of when feeling down or anxious, and may have struggled with mental health issues for years or just a short time. Still others experienced deep wounds or traumatic events through their lives that are now making it hard to even function or carry on in everyday life.

Lastly, some people generally just want to learn more about themselves and their behaviors, or who may be on a journey of spiritual discovery in life. These individuals may be seeking a place to gain insight and general self-growth, without a specific problem or concern.

Couples Counseling is a great way to strengthen and improve your relationship. We work with dating couples and those contemplating taking things to the next level, engaged couples and married couples. Some couples schedule appointments because they are in serious need of something to change because their relationship is hanging on by a thread. Perhaps one partner, or the other, is contemplating divorce, or has been unfaithful. Yet, others come because they are interested in improving their relationship and want to learn skills to take their relationship from good to great. The best way to heal relationally is in relationships with others. A group can be a powerful place to grow and heal, and can amplify the work done in individual or couples coaching. Not only do you get to learn from the group leader, but the other group participants can be a great source of support, bringing their own experiences and stories, and simultaneously allowing you to support them as well. The result? Real life practice engaging in healthy relationships with others, and the potential to grow your support network in a safe and therapeutic setting.
